Artisanal Manufacturing

There's a gap, practically a chasm, between artisanal production and manufacturing which has resulted in quite the abundance of cheap badly made products brought to us by slave labor.

To be raised in society as "a consumer" enslaved to money, using money to purchase all the food, medicine, clothing, and other essential goods etc, in the way that people in this culture are, is to be disenfranchised from your humanness, your inate capacity as a creator, as a maker of things.

Thus it's hard for people comprehend how viable it would be to make all their own things.
