Cob
Description:
Versatile building material with excellently low embedded-energy costs. Used for benches, ovens, interrior walls, and sometiems exterior walls. As a dense mass, it provides thermal regulation in desert places where temperatures fluctuate widely in a day, it will retain warmth from the hot day into the cold night and coolness from the night into the hot afternoon, but it's a terrible choice of exterior wall material for a place like Vermont.
